Dr. Marshall is a reproductive endocrinologist
who has been in clinical practice in Seattle since
1987. She recently left her position as the director
of the successful fertility program at Virginia
Mason Medical Center to found Pacific NW Fertility
and IVF Specialists with Dr. Lee Hickok.
Dr. Marshall obtained her medical degree from
Northwestern University Medical School’s Honors
Program in Medical Education in 1979. She completed
her internship and residency in obstetrics and
gynecology at University of California San Diego.
She received subspecialty training in Reproductive
Endocrinology and Infertility at University of
California San Francisco, and then served on the
faculty there until 1987. For the past 18 years she
has been the director of the Center for Fertility &
Reproductive Endocrinology at Virginia Mason. She
has been actively involved in teaching residents and
fellows from the University of Washington, where she
is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of
Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Marshall is board
certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology, and in
the subspecialty of Reproductive Endocrinology &
Infertility.
She is active in local, regional, and national
medical societies. Dr. Marshall is currently
president of the Seattle Gynecological Society and a
member of the board of directors of Pacific Coast
Reproductive Society. She has been honored for the
past few years as one of Seattle’s top doctors by
Seattle Magazine. She has co-edited the textbook
Current Evaluation and Treatment of Women and has
authored numerous articles, book chapters and
position statements on reproductive ethics. She
speaks frequently on a variety of reproductive
medicine topics.
Reproductive ethics has been an area of special
interest. Dr. Marshall earned a certificate in
Health Care Ethics from the University of Washington
Medical School. She is currently an active member of
the national ethics committees for both the American
Society for Reproductive Medicine and the American
College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her other
areas of special interest in reproductive medicine
include egg donation, polycystic ovary syndrome, and
reproductive surgery.
