Patient Evaluations for General Infertility, Fertility Preservation, and Multiple Pregnancy Loss
At Pacific NW Fertility and IVF Specialists, we provide your patients with personalized, up to date information regarding fertility preservation options in setting of cancer diagnosis as well as electively in choices of delaying pregnancy for personal reasons.
For your patients asking about Elective Fertility Preservation
At Pacific NW Fertility's Center for Fertility Preservation, we understand that perfect coordination of life’s timeline can be a challenge. The choice to preserve a woman's fertility options offers the chance to make at least one important decision in life when everything else is in order. PNWF's center, headed by Dr. Julie Lamb, provides fertility preservation choices to healthy young women who wish to extend Mother Nature’s rules. Thanks to recent technological advancements in reproductive endocrinology (or fertility treatments), the choice to extend fertility options is now available. PNWF provides the most current and proven freezing techniques to ensure that your patient's future will be waiting for her, when she is ready.
For your patients facing a cancer diagnosis
American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Guideline on fertility preservation (J Clin Onc June 2008): “As part of education & informed consent before cancer therapy, oncologists should address the possibility of infertility with patients treated during the reproductive years and be prepared to discuss possible fertility preservation options or refer appropriate and interested patients to reproductive specialists.”
As a provider, simply ask if the patient has considered having a family or more children in the future. If the answer is ‘Yes’ – let us do the rest. Either you or your patient can call PNWF to get them started. Ideally, we would like to see your patient to discuss options as soon as he/she receives a cancer diagnosis. We will be happy to talk to your patients the same day, and can usually see them within 1-2 days. (Men can usually schedule their first collection the same day they call).
For your patients experiencing multiple pregnancy loss
The Center for Recurrent Pregnancy Loss at Pacific NW Fertility provides up to date evaluation, treatment, and follow up for patients with recurrent pregnancy loss. We use a team approach with experts in each field needed to provide the best care for this unique patient population. The Center is directed by Dr. Lora Shahine, a board certified Reproductive Endocrinologist, with subspecialty training in recurrent pregnancy loss. Dr. Shahine trained at Stanford University, one of very few recurrent pregnancy loss centers in the United States. She combines up to date knowledge in the field of recurrent pregnancy loss with a passion for caring for her patients.

My partner and I went to PNWF because of the positive stance they take on assisting the LGBT community build families. Our primary provider is wonderful. From the get-go, the doctor made us feel comfortable, she took the time to answer all of our questions, and it felt like we were friends talking about fertility treatment, not numbers on a chart. Our doctor, over the course of our treatment, really got to know our personalities too, which was great. I prefer scientific explanations and my partner prefers brief, "give me the short version" explanations. I mention this because the fact that she got to know us in that way really made us feel like she cared about us personally as well as the outcome of our treatment and our family.
